NAE Checking Accounts come with Overdraft Services.

• NAE automatically sets new Checking Accounts up with overdraft protection. When a member overdraws their Checking Account, available funds from their primary share (S1) account are transferred to cover the item(s) trying to clear. This service is free of charge and is limited to (6) automatic transfers per month*. The $5 minimum balance requirement must remain in the share account at all times and will not transfer.

• Member-level credit union overdraft protection is also available. Members can select additional accounts to have funds transferred from (Money Market Accounts, Club Savings Accounts, relative accounts, etc.) This service is free of charge and is limited to (6) automatic transfers per month*. The $5 minimum balance requirement must remain in the share account at all times and will not transfer.

After your Share Draft (Checking) Account has been in good standing for 180 days, you automatically qualify for overdraft privilege, where we may authorize and pay overdrafts (for a $30 fee) for share drafts or automatic bill payments. If you want overdraft privilege for ATM transactions and everyday debit card transactions, you will have to authorize us to do so by opting in for that service.

The purpose of this service is to save you additional fees, charges, and embarrassment when you have insufficient funds in your account(s). The overdraft privilege is not a line of credit and may be withdrawn by NAE at any time without notice. If you inadvertently overdraw your account, NAE will have the discretion to pay the overdraft, subject to the limit of your overdraft privilege and the amount of the overdraft fee. NAE is not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient available funds. This privilege is generally limited to a maximum of $500 overdraft (negative) balance including all fees and charges.
