Direct Deposit
Direct deposit is a fast, secure way to have your paycheck or retirement check automatically deposited into your NAE account. You won’t have to wait in line on payday, and a portion of your paycheck can be automatically applied to your loan or deposited into your savings account.
Your employer automatically sends your paycheck to NAE through an Automated Clearing House (ACH) electronic transfer. Once received at NAE, your paycheck can be split between your NAE accounts.
To start direct deposit, complete a Direct Deposit Form online or at any NAE branch office. Most employers today start a direct deposit with the following information:
- Financial institution's full name: NAE Federal Credit Union.
- Financial institution's routing and transit number: 251480288.
- Member's six (6) digit account number.
- Account type: Savings or Checking (once your direct deposit is at the credit union, you can split it wherever you want it to go).
To get information about direct deposits for social security, start deposits, or change deposits, visit or call the Social Security Administration at www.ssa.gov or call (800) 772-1213 or (800) 325-0778) TTY.
You can also visit the Go Direct website godirect.gov. The Go Direct program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve. It can be used for any federal benefit check.
Wire Transfer
Wire transfer is a method of electronic funds transferred from one person or institution to another. Wire transfer systems are intended to provide more individualized or single payment transactions rather than bulk payment systems such as ACH (Automated Clearing House) or EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer).
NAE offers domestic wire transfers for a nominal fee. Funds wired by 4:00 p.m. from NAE are typically available at the receiving institution that day (depending on the receiving institution's cut-off times).
U.S. Savings Bonds
To Purchase:
As of January 1, 2012, paper savings bonds are no longer available. This was done to reduce the amount of paper transactions and to support the Treasury’s goal to increase the number of electronic transactions. You can still give and get savings bonds for any occasion or purpose – like birthdays, weddings, or graduation. You have to purchase them through the Treasury Direct website at www.savingsbonds.gov.
To Redeem:
If by chance you are given or you have a paper form of a Savings Bonds (one issued prior to January 1, 2012) NAE does redeem these for our members. Visit any one of our locations for assistance.

Notary Services
Notary Services are available at all NAE locations. Public notary services at NAE are free of charge to members. Notaries are unbiased witnesses of signatures required on some official documents. An official photo ID is required by all individuals whose signature is being notarized.
Medallion Signature Guarantee is also available at NAE. A medallion signature is a special signature for the transfer of securities. It is a guarantee by the transferring financial institution that the member’s signature is genuine and the financial institution accepts liability for any forgery. Signature guarantees protect entities by preventing unauthorized transfers and possible losses, limiting the liability of the transfer agent who accepts the certificates. NAE provides this service to its members free of charge. An official photo ID is required by all individuals whose signature is being guaranteed.
